Many men wear no jewellery at all. “It’s not for me,” they often say. Yet a mountain ring for men regularly changes their minds. The reason is simple: it is not there to shine. It carries the relief of a summit climbed, a bivouac or a homeland. In other words, it has meaning before it has style.
Why a mountain ring for men wins over those who wear none
A man who wears no jewellery rarely objects to the object itself. Above all, he objects to pointless ornament. A mountain ring, however, tells of something precise: a place, a challenge, an origin. What is more, its raw, mineral relief moves away from the codes of classic jewellery.
Florence’s partner is proof of this. He never wore a ring. For their twenty-five years together, she gave him the relief of Mont Thabor, a souvenir of their first bivouac as a couple.

A relief rather than a coat of arms
In the past, the signet ring bore a family’s coat of arms. It said where you came from. The mountain ring takes up this idea but replaces the coat of arms with a landscape. Thibault, for instance, gave the relief of La Rhune as a tribute to a family from the Basque Country. Laura, for her part, gave her uncle the relief of Villard-Reymond, the Alpine village where her grandfather lived his whole life.
Likewise, Jade gave her partner the relief of Choquequirao, in Peru. He often talked to her about the mountains he missed. Read all their stories.
Signet ring or band: which style?
Our rings come in two shapes. The square band gives the look of a signet ring, frank and graphic. The oval band stays softer. Then three widths adjust the character:
- Slim (5 mm): understated, ideal for someone new to rings;
- Regular (8 mm): balanced, with a clearly readable relief;
- Wide (12 mm): broad and bold, the relief in all its glory.
The prices stay simple: €339 in Slim, €349 in Regular and €359 in Wide, with free delivery in France and the European Union.

Which finger, and for what use?
Traditionally, the signet ring is worn on the little finger. But nothing rules out the ring finger or the index finger. Above all, think about the life of the hand that will wear it:
- Climbing, via ferrata, manual work: as with any ring, it is best to take it off. A ring can catch.
- Every day: 925 silver lives with the person who wears it. Yann has worn his Chaînon rings for a year, in the mountains and in everyday life.
- Care: avoid chlorine, salt water and chemicals, and store the ring safely. Our advice is in the FAQ.
“The quality is excellent and the rings are as beautiful as on day one.”
