Personalisation and made-to-measure orders

We offer gift cards showing a 3D preview of the relief you would like to give. It lets you offer a unique gift with a preview of the ring, while letting the recipient choose the size and the style of their relief. Discover the gift card.

Before making your ring, we discuss with you to approve the design, the size and the style together. This step ensures your ring will match your expectations perfectly. As each piece is made to measure, we do not accept returns. If you are thinking of giving a ring without being sure of the recipient’s preferences, our gift card is an excellent alternative.

The most reliable way is to visit a jeweller.

Other techniques are possible.
Wrap a ribbon or a strip of paper around your finger, mark where it meets, then measure the length with a ruler.
Check this measurement against a ring size chart.

There are also mobile apps, such as Ring Size, that estimate your ring size from an existing ring.

Measure your finger at room temperature, ideally at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly swollen.

Absolutely. We can start creating your ring without knowing your size. In the first step, we create a 3D visualisation of your ring from the chosen relief and style. The size is only needed when approving the design and starting production.

Yes, engraving is entirely possible. We entrust it to a Parisian master engraver who engraves each piece by hand, guaranteeing exceptional precision and quality. Preserving this traditional craft matters to us, so that every ring is unique and personalised to your wishes.

Yes. You can choose the relief of a place that unites you – the summit of a first hike or the valley of a proposal – to create your mountain wedding bands. Each ring is made to measure for each of you, with a unique framing, and can be engraved by hand by a Parisian engraver.

Yes. Our two ring shapes, square and oval, come in three widths. The Wide gives a broader, bolder ring, the Slim a finer look: everyone chooses, whichever hand wears it.

Gift card

That’s not a problem: it’s exactly what the gift card is for. The size is only needed when the person receiving the gift creates their ring with us.

Once the gift has been received, here is how to find their ring size:

  • the most reliable way: visit a jeweller;
  • wrap a ribbon or a strip of paper around the finger, mark where it meets, measure the length with a ruler, then check this measurement against a ring size chart;
  • use a mobile app such as Ring Size, which estimates the size from an existing ring.

Measure at room temperature, ideally at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly swollen. Find all our advice in our FAQ.

Almost everything: the mountain, the framing of the relief, the ring shape (oval or square) and its size. Only the ring width cannot be changed. The design shown on the card is a suggestion from you.

The width (Slim, Regular or Wide) determines the amount of silver used, and therefore the price of the ring. It is set when the gift card is purchased.

The price is that of the ring: €339 for Slim (5 mm), €349 for Regular (8 mm) and €359 for Wide (12 mm).

One year from its date of issue.

You receive it by email as a PDF, with the 3D preview of the ring. Print it, cut it out and fold it in three: it becomes a small booklet, ready to give. Instructions are included.

Within 48 hours of approving the 3D model. As the relief is modelled to measure from your suggestion, the time before approval depends on our exchanges: for Christmas, order early.

Write to us from our contact page, telling us the chosen mountain and the ring type you would like: we will get back to you for the next steps.

Something that reminds them of their summit. The Chaînon mountain ring reproduces in sterling silver the real relief of a place that matters to them: a one-of-a-kind gift, handmade in Paris, to be worn every day.

Making & craftsmanship

We make every ring in our workshop, working with a local caster. We start with 3D modelling and printing in our studio, then the sterling silver casting is done by the caster. We then shape and finish the piece by hand, before applying our maker’s hallmark, guaranteeing its authenticity and quality.

Your ring is made of sterling silver (925). We work with a local caster who uses only recycled silver. This choice reflects our commitment to responsible creation, favouring durable materials and French craftsmanship.

Your ring is delivered in a bespoke box featuring a 3D-printed relief. It comes with a personalised booklet, designed especially from the details of your mountain. Your ring is ready to give as soon as it arrives.

Absolutely. Even when we sculpt the same relief, we create a unique framing for each piece. Your ring is an exclusive work, made especially for you.

Yes, we can make your ring in gold-plated silver. For this, we work with a renowned gilder in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. This local partnership guarantees an excellent plating, carried out with traditional methods.

Lead times & delivery

Once your ring design and quote are approved, allow about one month for making.

The steps:
— We 3D-print the mould of your modelled ring.
— The sterling silver casting is then entrusted to our partner caster.
— Back in the workshop, we shape the rough cast by hand to give it its final finish.
— Finally, we prepare your bespoke box and a personalised booklet to accompany your ring.

This lead time may exceptionally be extended due to the unforeseen nature of handcraft. In any case, we keep you informed at every step.

Delivery times are added to this, generally around four working days depending on the carrier.

Within the European Union, delivery and parcel insurance are on us: there is nothing extra to pay to receive your made-to-measure ring.

Outside the European Union, additional charges such as customs duties may apply. These are payable by the recipient.

Care

Our sterling silver rings are made to last and to evolve with you. The malleability of silver means each piece comes to life over time as you wear it. However, like any precious jewellery, regular care is needed to preserve its shine.

Preventing tarnish.

Silver can naturally tarnish over time through exposure to air, humidity and certain chemicals. To limit this:

  • Avoid contact with salt water, chlorine, perfumes and creams.

  • Store your ring in a box or a fabric pouch when you are not wearing it.

  • Wear your ring regularly: natural friction helps keep it shiny.

Avoiding scratches and knocks.

As silver is a relatively soft metal, it is sensitive to scratches and deformation. To keep your ring beautiful:

  • Take your ring off before activities that could damage it.

  • Do not store it with other jewellery that could scratch it.

If your ring loses its shine, you can clean it in several ways: use a soft microfibre cloth to polish it gently.
Mix baking soda and salt in warm water until dissolved. Line a container with aluminium foil and place your ring in it. Pour in the mixture and wait a few minutes. Rinse and dry carefully.
